BLOWOUT BACKGROUND

This tut is for someone who has a basic
understanding of psp and the use of filters..
You will need:

Paint Shop Pro 9

Simple Filter

Gregs Factory Output

And Perhaps Fm Tile Tools

The image I used is at the top of the page, just
right click and save it to your hard drive!

Open it in PSP,
Click on effects/3D Effects/Blur/Gaussian Blur 40



Then Gregs Factory Output, Blowout...frequency
128/Amplitude 176/Phase 0



Then Simple Quick Tile

You should have something that looks like this



Now Effects, Edge Enhance,
Or you can use FM Tile Tools/Blend Emboss
Using these settings




Above is the way it turned out using Blur/Gaussian blur

Below is the way it turned out if you just use blowout
on the original image without blurring it first. I think
the results are much more dramatic!



Note:

The more I create backgrounds the more I realize
how important the image is. If the image is too busy, or out
of focus it will not produce the desired effects, so I make a
special effort to find the most Outrageous images
I can. They must be clear and crisp with lots of
beautiful color. Also blurring or not to blur, is
definitely a personal option.. :)
