Texture Background From Your Image
This tut may be old news.. but I just stumbled upon this technique of creating a textured background out of your image, so I wanted to share it.. :)
|
First things first:
You will need Paint Shop Pro 7, 8 or 9 and Simple Quick Tile!
We will be creating the scrolling bkg on this page
Let's Begin...
Open the image you are going to use. You may borrow mine by right clicking and saving to your hard drive.
Click on Effects, Plugin Effects, Simple Quick Tile, and it should look like this

Now here comes the hard part! :) Save as a bmp in your textures folder with a name you will remember. then create a new 400px X 400px transparent image and flood fill with one of the complimentary colors from your image
Click on Effects, Texture Effects, Texture and find your saved bmp.
Here are the settings I used.

You can always play with them to get different effects. Then Simple Quick Tile and you are done! Easy wasn't it?
Once you have your finished background tile, you may have to resize to fit the look of your stat.
