Incredimail Tips and Tricks

"Moving Your Data Folder"

Just a Note:

For those of you whe believe that Incredimail is spyware! What it is, is ad supported, you see the little window running ads at the top right of the program..It uses the ads to support the free version, once you purchase the program the ads are no longer there.

First things first!
Never put your letters, skins, ecards, images etc in your Incredimail program file! It can crash your Incredimail just like putting your tubes, brushes, masks, etc in your Paint Shop Pro Folder. Always create a folder on your second drive, prefereably on an external drive! If you don't have a second drive, then create the folder in my pictures or my documents.

Open Incredimail and go to Tools, Options!

Once the window Options opens for you, click on your Data
Folder Settings to see where the program is storing
the program files? Create a new folder, call it whatever you like, but
something you will remember like Incredimail!

Click on Tools Options, Gen Tab! General Tab

Click on Data Folder Settings! Data Folder

You will want to change the path to where you put your new
folder called Incredimal! Mine is on my external drive with the
path of H/graphics/Incredimail

  • Click the browse button and type in the path to where your new data folder will be! For instance, D/Graphics/Incredimail! Once you do this, you will see it's moving all the files to your new folder! Give it time to finish transferring the files!
  • Now for the Runtime Files

Once you finish transfering the files, it's very
important to delete the runtime folders.

You can either use a program to do this, or manually delete them yourself.

Yes every last one of them! Don't worry once you restart incredimail it will create new ones. The problem is they get loaded with files and can crash your incredimail! I use a great little utility called Windows Cleanup. You can get it below:

    Cleanup

Once you install the program, click on options, and make sure you
add the path of your new incredimail folder.. Custom folders

Do this about once a week, and your Incredimail should run smoothly!

That's all for now, but if I find out something
else, or if I remember what might be important, I
will add it here.. hugs Rainy
