How to make a safety
pin look like it's sticking in paper or cloth!
This is a very simple tut!
You must have a basic understanding of PSP
- Supplies
- Paint Shop Pro
(I used PSPX)
- Use any safety pin.
Start out with a basic safety
pin! As you can see it is tilted somewhat and we
need to make it straight so we can work on
it..

- Image
- Rotate until you have a horizontal pin
like this!

With your selection tool set to rectangular draw around a center section of the lower pin.. staying close to the edge
You will see the marching ants!
- Hit your delete key
You should still have your marching ants around the
deleted area,
- Keep selected.
Now for the drop
shadow!

- Effects
- 3D Effects,
- Drop
Shadow
Use these settings..
- Vertical 1,
horizontal 1
- Opacity 34,
- Blur 8
- Color black,
Make sure there is
No Shadow on new layer
- Selections, Select
None
- Layers, Merge visible!
- Copy and Paste to note or tag
- Rotate until you have a horizontal pin
- All layers not checked
Add drop shadow, just like before!

The settings are
- Vertical 1
- Horizontal 1
- Opacity 34
- Blur 8
- Color black
- No shadow on new layer
And you are done

I hope you found this tut easy to do.. :)
I love a tut with loads of screenshots so I
don't get lost! :)
Hugs, Rainy
