| Note:I am just learning how to create templates so I am learning with you! :), but know my way around Paint shop Pro fairly well since I have been playing with it for almost 10 years! Even though I am finding out new things almost daily! This template is a bit complicated since there are variances of shades especially in the large center leaf, so using the magic wand would be difficult at best but there are other ways to do this. |
SuppliesYou will need Paint Shop Pro (I am using Paint Shop Pro X2 but other versions will work as well) and Adjust Variations which is an amazing filter and easy to use!You also must know your way around Paint shop Pro! Please save your work often! Adjust Variation may be downloaded |
Step 1First go to View, and make sure you have a check mark next to View/Palettes/Layers so you can see what layer you are on! ![]() Step 2Delete the layer and choose a color you like, and floodfill that layer with the new color; I used color #412803. It makes more sense to find your images first, and pull the colors from them! Here is what it looks like so far: ![]() ![]() Step 3Now make sure you are on the second layer from the bottom, where the wavy blue arrow is pointing, then click the bottom part of the double-colored bar that goes across the width of the template! Using your magic wand, select the bottom part and flood fill with your color of choice. I used #281902), then Select None!Below is what it looks like now: ![]() |
It should look like the one below now! ![]() Be sure you are on the long leaf layer before you try and select it. It is the fourth layer from the bottom entitled "long leaf!" Selections, Select all, Selections, Float, Selections, Defloat, Adjust, Hue and Saturation, colorize! Make sure you use the H-Hue/S-Saturation from the material palette ![]() Here is where Adjust Variations comes into play. Sometimes when you use colorize, it doesn't give the exact shade or color you wish, so go to Filters, Plugin, Adjust variations, and click on darker or lighter! ![]() ![]() ![]() You can at this time adjust the shade or depth of color to suit you! ![]() Be sure you have your dot in Midtones. Notice over on the right, there is lighter at the top and current pick in the middle, then darker at the bottom; these are usually what I click on, but notice you can make also it greener, redder, bluer, etc. As soon as the color suits you, click ok! Select None! Your template should now look similar to the one below: ![]() Step 6Now we are going to tackle the big leaf with all the varied shades in it.![]() Go to Selections, Select All, Float, Defloat! Go To Adjust, Hue and Saturation, Colorize! (I have chosen color #6f5b36 which has 28 for Hue and 88 for Saturation) For the center leaves, this just didn't make the leaves dark or rich enough, so I will now use Adjust Variations to make the leaf darker. Go to Filters, Plugins, Adjust Variations and click on darker >several times until you have the shade to your liking! Select None This is what it looks like now: ![]() Step 7Now we are going to colorize the words, so be sure you are on the right layer before you select them.![]() Selections, Select All, Selections, Float, Selections, Defloat! Go to Adjust, Hue And Saturation, Colorize, and choose your color (I chose color #c69136 which gave me Hue 26 and Saturation of 126), then I darkened it a bit by using Adjust Variations, which by now you are an expert at using. Using the magic wand, select the center of the picture frames, floodfill with color of choice, do the same for the borders of each. Select None ![]() web counter code |
